1. I can't help but think about our lives one year ago. We were packing up our place in AZ and getting ready to move to CA. What an exciting and exhausting time that was. :) We are so thankful to be here and settled--we love it!
2. Joey is finishing up his last three weeks of his intern year. I can't believe the hours that he has put in to his training so far--and all with an amazing attitude. I'm so proud of him to have almost made it through his intern year! (I have to add that I'm also proud of myself for making it through his intern year! :))
3. VACATION is three weeks away. I am just about to the point where I am going to be counting down the minutes! Time together and time not to be working--that's the combination we are waiting for! We plan to spend our week off in Butte Meadows with all my siblings and their families, and then the last three days backpacking in the trinity alps.
4. Kathy is coming to visit in three weeks and will be joining us for our vacation in Butte Meadows and backpacking trip, and then staying for the following week. She will be here for just over two weeks (yes, my mother in law will be here for just over two weeks...:)) We are really looking forward to seeing her and for Owen to get to hang out with her too!
5. Owen continues to make every day a happier and funnier day. (Unless of course you are at church trying to pin him down in a pew...that's another story.) So I should say, in general, Owen makes our days brighter. :) He kills us with the "conversations" he thinks we are having. He has learned a few real words--his favorite is puppy. Now when Maya barks he says "no, no puppy" (I wish she'd listen).
6. I can't believe it is already summer! Summer in Redding is hot, and will get hotter. But after living in AZ for five years, NOTHING feels too hot anymore. :) And we have relief with the Sacramento River running through town. We've been fishing a few evenings in the last couple of weeks, and Joey has been kayaking on the Upper Sac a few times as well. Water helps. :)
7. Joey and I celebrate our three year anniversary this week on the 13th! What an amazing three years it has been! I will be working in AZ this week so we are planning on having an anniversary month (I love dragging celebrations out) where we make even more of an effort for date nights all month long. :)
