Putting the "Home" in Homestretch

With only 11 days to go until we have our little baby I'd definitely say I'm in the homestretch!  So how fitting that Owen and I moved back home to Colusa with my parents last week?  :)  Long story short--I want to try to have a VBAC (vaginal birth after csection) and the closest hospital to Redding that will allow me to attempt one is Sacramento, which is three hours from Redding.  SO--my OB in Redding told me if I want to go for it I can transfer to a different doctor in Sacramento from 37 weeks on--and I need to move within a one hour radius of Sacramento.  So here I am!  I really miss being home with Joey and Maya but am enjoying this time with family that I wouldn't have otherwise.

Speaking of family--we had a family filled first week here.  Mary and her three kids had already planned a week vacation at Grandma and Grandpa's (my parents house) so it just happened that they were here for my first week.  Owen LOVED it!  They left yesterday but he still wakes up asking to "play cousins!"  It's sad to break it to him that they aren't here anymore.  They played hard and had a lot of fun together for the week.  It was so fun for me to have Mary here and to get to see her kids too!

Luke also partnered with my dad starting May 1st--so he is working in Colusa 5 days a week now.  He and my dad have been coming home for lunch--so not only did I get to hang out with Mary and her kids for the week--I also get to have lunches with Luke almost every day.  It is fun!

We ALSO had Erin's baby shower (Erin and Luke are expecting a little boy August 7th) on Sunday which meant Kyrstin and Mandy were also in town on Sunday.  It has been a mini reunion!

The next visitor we are MOST looking forward to having is Joey who should be able to stay down here most of memorial day weekend!  He has had to work every day since I've been gone but gets Saturday afternoon through Monday off.  I can't wait!

Opening the Cabin

Last weekend we got the cabin ready for the summer.  I think Anna did more work than I did.  I pulled the pregnancy card whenever possible as to avoid any real work.  :)

The best part of being 36 weeks pregnant..."I probably shouldn't thatch the lawn this year..."

Hanging out by the fire--one of the greatest pastimes in Butte Meadows

Hanging out with GrandMA.  I mean GrandPA.  What is it?  Oh well, they answer to both now.  (Owen still doesn't know the difference between GrandMa and GrandPa)

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Two weekends ago we went to Colusa for my dad's birthday!  We grilled burgers and got their garden ready for the summer.  The kids had fun helping with the garden and playing in the yard.  :)

YUM!  This is what keeps me coming back for my Dad's Birthday every year!

Helpers!

Big enough to eat at the kids table!  Owen has to sit in a high chair still at home, so this is kind of a big deal for him!  :)

Don't light your hair on fire Anna!  I think we re-lit the candles three times they loved blowing them out so much!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!!

Oh Maya Goodness

We went up to Butte Meadows last weekend for the first time this year.  It was BEAUTIFUL up there and it was so hard to leave.  I'm so looking forward to the chance to get up there more this summer while I am on maternity leave!  As much as I love it up there though--I think Maya loves it the most.  She races around the meadow like a greyhound on a racetrack!  She is CRAZY!  When she has calmed down enough she and Owen go exploring together, which is basically Owen following Maya around the meadow and the woods like a puppy dog.  :)  She keeps Owen entertained while Joey and I sit on the deck and drink coffee watching them.  Pretty ideal.  :)

Some pictures of our crazy dog:

Maya with all four paws off the ground  :)  She looks like a flying squirrel!

Owen watch out--here comes Maya!  ... "What did you say mom?"

Boom!  Disclaimer: I was not planning on getting an action shot of Maya running into Owen and knocking him down.  I was just playing with the zoom on my camera and was telling Joey that I want to get a picture of the two of them together for Owen's new room...I totally just happened to capture this.  I seriously can't stop laughing at Owen's hair as he falls though!

I think both Maya's and Owen's faces deserve to be zoomed in on a little bit!  haha
