Rotary Family Fun Ride

This morning we decided to participate in the Rotary Family Fun Ride from Greenville to Taylorsville.  We haven't been on a bike ride all together since we lived on the bike path in Redding--over a year!  So we got the kids and the bikes ready and headed over for a 25 mile out and back pulling the trailer with the boys in it.  Because if you haven't ridden a bike in a year the perfect distance to start with is 25 miles right?

It was a BEAUTIFUL ride.  The rotary put it on and it was on back roads through meadows with aid stations every 3 miles that had candy and oranges and bananas.  That kept the boys going!  Not that they had to do ANY of the work!  I started out pulling the trailer for the first six miles but quickly realized how out of shape I am and gave the trailer to Joey for the rest of the ride.  :)

We ended up at Greenville High School with a free lunch and raffle.  Owen was SOOO excited about the raffle because there were squirt guns!!!  There were only about 20 people there so our odds were good!  It turns out they gave us the squirt guns before they even started the raffle because Owen was so excited about them.  Then we WON a lawn dart game which will be fun this summer!

After the lunch we decided that I should just ride the 13 miles back to the car and Joey would stay with the kids.  The ride back was mixture of happiness to be out riding my bike and me dying to get there because I thought I wasn't going to be able to keep pedaling.  :)  Overall it was a really fun day and it was nice to get out and get some exercise together!

Orange break!

Check out our view!

The boys had it so easy!

Water fight after getting the new spray guns!  It doesn't look like it here, but Levi loved getting sprayed!

Now it's down to Owen vs Joey and I think Owen is winning...

Check out our winnings!!!

Filled the trailer up with our stuff and rode safely back to the car

While we were loading up the car we got a little more energy out of these two with Owen riding his bike and Levi running after him.  :)
