The Schad Blog: August

The stay at home life has treated me well so far this summer! We've been able to spend a lot of time in Butte Meadows and a lot of time with friends. My house is a little cleaner too! :)

Owen and Levi have been so much fun (for the most part) and are playing together so much more. I love it when Owen says "come on Levi let's go ride bikes!" and Levi takes off after him. It is fun to watch them together and also a great break for me! :)

Joey and I just closed on a lot in Butte Meadows last week! It is about a quarter mile from my parent's cabin. Joey went in on a wood mill with two friends in Quincy and is planning on building a cabin out of wood that he mills from trees on the lot. It has been fun planning the cabin already and now that we own the lot we are having fun clearing out limbs and trees and prepping for building. We had a lot of help with that last weekend--mostly from my mom and Amanda! The plan is to prep and mill the wood this fall and then start building next summer. Knowing how our fixer upper projects always took at least twice as long as we hoped, I'm mentally preparing for our plans to take twice as long as well. But we have our trailer on the lot already and are totally enjoying camping at the lot until we have our own cabin to stay at!

I wanted to get some pictures of what we have been up to around here and of course had to add our latest trip to Butte Meadows as well.

Our friends from church have been inviting us over for swimming all summer and we finally made it there! How SWEET is their pool? It is all natural spring water that feeds it and Rob built it himself and did all the rock work. It is totally amazing!

As you can imagine Owen and Levi did not want to leave this place! Neither did I!

Rob and Diane's neighbors are our friends Erin and Will (and baby Riley) and we all got together for a BBQ and Bonfire to go with our swimming. :)
