Rapid City

Joey's brother Cody got married in Rapid City on Valentines day this year!  We drove out to Rapid City and stayed the week.  In eight days we drove 54 hours.  With four kids.  It honestly took me four days before I could function again after we got back!

We had a great trip though!  The kids have super fun cousins out there and it was fun for us to see everyone as well!  We hardly got any pictures when we were there which was so sad!  We had NO pictures of the wedding at all!  Joey was in the wedding so that meant I had the kids so really, no chance of pulling out even my phone to take pics at that point.  But just picture this: lot's of people, lots of food, and lots of fun!

Liv was a trooper on the long car ride!  As long as she had her babies she was doing just fine!

Joey and I did brown bags for every two hours of the trip!  They were surprise bags full of fun snacks.  This first one was Odwalla and cut up fruit when they woke up.

Surprise snack are the way to go!

If they are eating they aren't fighting.  Usually.

How perfect was this?  My first chocolate of the road trip!

Let's do this!

I can't remember why Abby was crying but it was freezing outside and Joey said if you don't stop crying I'm rolling down the window.  And here we were until she stopped crying.  The boys were yelling--ABBY STOP CRYING!  Oh the joys of a family road trip.

Another fun tid-bit.  We had fifteen miles til the nearest gas station when the Distance to Empty read zero.  During that 15 miles we seriously had to pull over and stop for a bathroom break for Levi who was GOING TO PEE HIS PANTS!!!!  I was dying.  BUT--we made it!  This all happened about five hours into our trip on day 1.  What works better than coffee for waking you up?  Almost running out of gas in the middle of Nevada 5 hours into a 18 hour car ride.

Joey ended up with Olivia and Levi in his bed the first night in Salt Lake City.  At 2AM he was like, ok I'm good, let's start driving.  :)  And we packed up and left.

I can't even remember why Abby had to wear Owen's shirt on day 2.  Did she throw up?  I can't even remember, it's all a blur.  I remember there was a reason we had to change her shirt and use one of Owen's shirts but that's as far as my memory goes.  :)

Owen is the best brother!  Olivia was freaked out about the McDonald's play places.  We planned our trip around them so the kids could run around.  Owen had Olivia LOVING them by the end of the first stop!

Just a beautiful Wyoming day!  Perfect day for a road trip!

More snacks for the win!

AHHH!  We made it to cousins!  It is all worth it!

And Uma could be their sister!  She is a year older than Olivia and so sweet!

Just the cutest girls hanging out!

Ok we got one picture of Cody on his wedding weekend--he's there in the background of this picture!  :)  And yes, that is a FIRE on top of his cake.

He got them all out!

Joey celebrated his 39th Birthday the day after the wedding with literally 100 of his closest friends and family!  There were a ton of people there!

That is probably the biggest birthday cake he has even gotten!
Olive Garden in Salt Lake City on the way home.  Doesn't this look relaxing?  Actually, it was pretty fun, and it was the first time Olivia said "thank you!" and so we spent the whole dinner getting her to say thank you over and over.  Levi is not pictured here because he is under the table.

Reunited with Maya on the way home!  We picked her up from where she was staying in Graeagle.
