My first trip with four kids! We stopped in Chester to feed Olivia, which made it for a pretty easy trip!
We had so many visitors when we were up there. Olivia got to meet Hayley, Lori, Bennett, Ella, Sidonie, Aunt Toni Ann, all of my siblings and all of their kids!
1st Day Recap:
Our first day at Butte Meadows was exciting--we'd been waiting for this extended stay up here for months--it was finally here! When we pulled into the driveway of my parents cabin Abby screamed--we're at the CABIN!! Pretty exciting!
The boys played tennis, Levi and Joey played tennis. They played in the sandbox and were able to do a volcano with Anna and Mary before they drove back to Davis. It is so fun when the cousins are here!
This morning we got up and had coffee and built houses with the magnet blocks. The boys are trying to get 25 shots in a row back and forth so they worked on that today but only got to 17.
Joey milled the last of the siding down at the cabin. The Nano Wall guys came and installed the accordion door. So fun!! We've been trying to get them to come up here all summer! Every time something is done it is so exciting!
8-10-18 Recap:
Today was so fun! We had Hayley, Lori, Bennett and Ella visit. The boys immediately made a volcano out of baking soda and vinegar and food coloring and then stuck their hands in the volcano. Boys never cease to amaze me. Haha!
Ella and Abby had fun together too! Running after the boys and playing blocks.
Olivia is one week old today and celebrated by having the best night of sleep yet. I had to wake her up at 12:30, 3:30 and then she woke up on her own at 6:30. Can't ask for better than that! She sleeps when she isn't eating during the day! It is so amazing. I wonder how long it will last...
Our fun day will end with the arrival of Eric, Mandy, Kyrstin, Cal, Clay, Ryan, Erin and Luke! We are all excited!
August 12-15th Highlights:
Joey took Levi and Owen tubing. It started off with Levi saying he wasn't going and Owen saying he wasn't going in his own tube. They came back a few hours later yelling "THAT WAS AWESOME!!!" Levi went the whole time--and asked for more--and Owen tubed in his own tube. Owen only flipped once he said. The tube was on top of him and he was under water but he pushed the tube off--flipped it over and jumped back on! They tubed from Carpenter to our cabin twice adn then all the way down past the Brown cabin. Brave boys. Somehow Joey always pushes them to do what they don't want to do and they end up loving it. He has a way of doing that!
Joey textured all the sheet rock in the cabin in the past few days. Now we are moving on to paint! Toby and his crew will be here tomorrow and they want us to at least finish around the electrical outlets so they can finish those up.
Olivia continues to be a super chill baby. Thank goodness because her siblings are hardly chill. We appreciate her efforts to balance out the high energy. :) I get up with her about every 2-3 hours at night--but she always goes right back to sleep after feeding her.
Abby is showing us a glimpse of the terrible twos in between her super sweet times. She now throws a FULL tantrum if she doesn't get her way! Thankfully, she is still super sweet to Olivia. Overall she really is a joy to be around and loves giving hugs and sitting on laps. :)
As for me, I am healing really well from the C-section. I'm on day two of no pain medications at all. It is amazing how you can reach a certain point in the healing process and the paint part is pretty much over. Yesterday I walked up from our cabin with no trouble.
We've been up here a week today. Although it isn't easy no matter where you are when you have a newborn--the time up here has really allowed us to focus on family time free of the distractions that our regular lives bring.
